I wanted to finish off the remaining 6% of my camera battery life, so I decided to just shoot some random stuff. I call it, the Dead Rose and a Mustang.

I find it kinda lame… but.. oh well.. : D

After shot

I always liked how people position thier fingers when they play pool/snooker. It somehow looks distorted yet beautiful. Anyway, I missed the shot with the ball there… got the “after shot” instead. 😀

I was given this link by Rachel ealier. It is one of the most amazing stop motion I’ve ever seen. Well I am not sure if this is a commercial or just a work done by a group of professionals. But it’s brilliant! Enjoy!

I went back to this place again today with Ryan and two of my other photo buddies. We found out that this is actually a private property so we might be able to go back there again. This time it wasn’t raining so I had more time to compose and play around with the settings to get the best results.

To be honest, I am very dissapointed with the results. It was really dark at that time so that made exposing a difficult task. Shooting  at 30sec, f/3.5, is definately not the best thing to do but that was my only choice. I would want to shoot at f14 but that would mean that I need to go BULB which works best if I have a remote. Dissapointing… dissapointing….

This is definately my favorite of the bunch. It snowed suddenly after a long time and I got excited because never once I have my camera in my hand when snow falls during the day. At this spot, I waited until the trafic light turns green to give the “life” using the moving cars. Do enjoy the rest of it. Cheers!

Out Of Films!

I increased the temperature of my fridge last week as it kept freezing my vegetables everytime I keep it in. What happened was the ice from the freezer melted and my films were having a good 2 days swim. I took the socked wet rolls out and placed it by the window to let it dry. The thing is, I’m not sure what I have in my fridge but it’s red in colour and it’s sticky! (But I dont have sweets in my fridge)
I ignored that and let them to dry. I took them off the window just now to reload my camera, I couldn’t pull the film out…it was totally stuck. I tired to pull as hard as I could but the film eventually tore. 😀 Same goes to the rest of the films…

I doubt that there’s anything sweet or anything that might be sticky. So I think it has something to do with the chemicals in the film itself. If anyone of you knows or can explain, I am more than happy to hear from you. 😀

cheers!

Lomo’s Lubitel 2

Got this mint conditioned Lubitel 2 off ebay for a very cheap price. Film loaded but I haven’t had the chance to go out and shoot due to classes and also freaky weather in these past few days.

There’s One thing I didn’t like about this Lubitel 2 is the viewfinder. Although it’s a standard (6×6) sized viewfinder, focusing isn’t easy. Apart from the frosted circle (which is use to focus), everything seems like a “mirror” which sometimes confuse the eyes and that can be annoying at times. The tiny magnifier doesn’t help either. Other than that, the Lubitel 2 is great.

I was told by a friend that there are few stalls in Portobello Market that sell old, antique cameras. I went there a week later to check it out for myself and it was great. There we so many vintages but only 2 caught my attention at that time. The Yashica B and a Rolleicord, but I decided to continue walking to look for other camera stalls.  Some were too expensive, some did not interest me, so I thought I’ll to go back to the first stall. When I got there, the Rolleicord was gone…. but lucky for me the Yashica was still there. Made a deal and got some discounts for it. 😀 Now it is happily sitting on my shelf.

Yashica B

The condition of this Yashica is excellent. But minor fungus is starting to grow in the taking lens which needs some cleaning. I couldn’t find much info about this Yashica B as it quite rare. I’ll play around with this thing first and I’ll update here. 😀
